The Administrative Prosecution referred 8 officials of the Public Authority for Health Insurance to trial on charges of committing serious financial and administrative violations that resulted in wasting public money.
The list of defendants includes Mr. Abdul Salam Al Shanashoori, Director of the Financial Department at the General Authority for Health Insurance in Al Gharbia, Talat Muhammad Jad Al Rab, Head of the Procurement Department, and Muhammad Moheb Mustafa, Director General of the Secretariat of Al Gharbia Branch, Abdel Hamid Shehata Al Mouji, Director General of Control and Follow-up, Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed, Architectural Construction Technician, Ibrahim Salama Afifi, Head of the Engineering Department, and Yasser Al-Sayed Issa, Financial and Administrative Inspector, and Majdi Muhammad Hassan, Director of the Authority’s Branch in Al Gharbia, “Under-Ministry”
The indictment report in Case 221 of the Supreme Judicial Year 58 confirmed that all the defendants had gone against the duty of duty and did not perform the work assigned to them accurately and did not preserve the funds of the authority they work for.
Investigations revealed that the first and second defendants prepared two notes to be presented to the Director of the General Authority for Health Insurance in Al Gharbia, which included renting a plot of land to be used as a store for the authority by way of direct agreement, and they formed a committee for this purpose in violation of the Law of Tenders and Auctions.
It was found that from the second to the seventh, the defendants proceeded to rent a plot of land to be used as a warehouse, despite the introduction of the contracting process by direct order and the fact that the formation of the committee contravenes the Tenders and Auctions Law.
According to the case papers, the last accused agreed to put forward the process of leasing a plot of land by direct agreement and forming a committee at the request of the departments of financial affairs, procurement and stores, despite his lack of competence to do so, in addition to the fact that the contract and the formation of the committee are against the law.
The investigations ended with referring all the accused to trial, and the administrative prosecution asked the president of the court to determine the nearest session to hear the case.
