Judicial source: Graft is close to concluding with Mubarak's secretary

A judicial source revealed that the Illicit Profit Authority headed by Adviser Adel Al-Saeed will soon announce the completion of reconciliation procedures with a number of defendants in cases of wealth inflation, profit and graft, after paying the money they owe.

The source indicated, to “The Seventh Day”, that among those who approached the agency to conclude reconciliation with them and officially announce the procedures for this reconciliation is Major General Abu Al-Wafa Hussein Rashwan, former secretary of former President Hosni Mubarak.

The source added that the earning agency is about to complete the reconciliation procedures with Rashwan, after the latter submitted a request through his lawyer to the earning agency to reconcile with him.

The graft agency had issued a previous decision to seize the funds of Major General Abu Al Wafa Rashwan, the secretary of former President Hosni Mubarak and his family, against the background of his accusation of graft, and the North Cairo Criminal Court upheld the decision of the agency to withhold his and his family's money.

It is worth noting that among those who are also about to complete the procedures of reconciliation with them are the heirs of the late Atef Ebeid, former prime minister, according to what the source confirmed, indicating that soon the agency will announce these reconciliations.

Reconciliation is made with the accused in cases of illicit gain based on the amendments made to the law and the decree of the law issued by the President of the Republic in August of last year. Article 14 bis stipulated that reconciliation may be requested from the accused, his heirs or his representative for either of them in The investigation stage of the illicit gain management by returning the illicit gain that the accused got in whatever form it was.
