Magdy Malak, a member of the Agriculture Committee in the House of Representatives and head of the Wheat Fact Check Committee, revealed a surprise regarding the selection of the new Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Abdel Moneim Al-Banna, indicating that it was the reason behind his refusal to vote on the new ministerial amendment, during the parliament session today, Tuesday. The council approved it by a large majority.
“I refused to enter the plenary session today, objecting to the nomination of one of the ministerial portfolios, which is the Ministry of Agriculture, because the nomination had reservations, and the candidate was accused of the ministry in cases of seizing and wasting public money,” Malak added in a special statement to “The Seventh Day”. It amounted to 18 cases, related to incidents of corruption in the ministry and the Agricultural Research Center, which he headed.
In his statements, the deputy explained that he will prepare a complete file on corruption cases in which the minister is accused, to be presented to Parliament in the coming period, asking: "How is the minister chosen while he is accused and his choice is marked by reservations in corruption cases."
It is reported that MP Magdy Malak, a member of parliament from Minya governorate and head of the fact-finding committee in the wheat supply file, sent photos to Al-Youm Al-Sabea of some of the communications submitted to the Attorney General accusing the new Minister of Agriculture in cases of corruption and waste of public money.
