The Administrative Control Authority managed to arrest the Undersecretary of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate while he was receiving 200,000 EGP, as a bribe, to allow the entry of infected cattle from Libya that had been confirmed to have foot-and-mouth disease and the blue tongue from the veterinary quarantine in Matrouh.

The accused is being brought before the Public Prosecution in Matrouh, and the injured livestock are kept in custody before they are sold and traded in the Egyptian market.

It is noteworthy that the accused tried to offer 100 thousand pounds to the director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate to participate in committing the crime, but the latter refused and informed the Administrative Control Authority about the incident.
