Ambassador Omar Amer, Egypt's permanent representative to the international organizations of the United Nations in Vienna, confirmed that Egypt will host the work of the sixth session of the Conference of the Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Sharm El-Sheikh next year 2017.
Amer stated that the fifth session of the Conference of the Parties had agreed yesterday, Friday, unanimously to the request made by Egypt to host the work of the sixth session in Sharm El-Sheikh next year, expressing thanks and appreciation to all member states for their support for the Egyptian request.
The ambassador delivered a speech at the opening session of the fifth session of the conference in which he reviewed the Egyptian efforts in the field of combating corruption, which culminated in the development of the national anti-corruption strategy, stressing that Egypt welcomes the hosting of the sixth session of the conference next year in Sharm El-Sheikh within the framework of the Egyptian efforts to strengthen international cooperation in this field.
It is noteworthy that Egypt is the first African country to obtain the right to host the Conference of the Parties of the International Anti-Corruption Academy, which is the largest international organization specialized in the field of combating corruption, as it includes in its membership seventy countries, and its activities focus on providing master's programs and training courses for member states on the latest anti-corruption methods Corruption.
The Egyptian move comes within the framework of Egypt's efforts at the international level in the field of combating corruption and asset recovery, as it had previously obtained the right to organize the ninth session of the Conference of States Parties to the United Nations Convention against Corruption scheduled for 2021.
