The internal commercial control in Al-Gharbia closed the "Total Egypt" petrol station in Mitt Assas, affiliated to Samanoud, after discovering that the owners had tampered and smuggled large quantities of petroleum products.
The record bearing No. 18959 of 2015 revealed the misdemeanor of Tanta, the station’s manipulation of large quantities of petroleum products, estimated at 44.535 million pounds, for price differences, which is a waste of public money.
For his part, Inspector Fakhry Al-Essawy, Senior Inspector of Internal Commercial Control in Al-Gharbia, revealed that after the contract between Total Egypt Cairo and Muhammad Radwan, the owner of the station in Mitt Assas, the company appointed Ahmed Ahmed Ibrahim Muhammad Abu Shakuq, a resident of Kafr Saqr Center in Sharkia, as director Responsible for the station and its operation, so the latter disposed of large quantities of petroleum products for the purpose of personal profit for himself, and despite the issuance of a decision on May 17, 2012, to close the station and stop practicing its activity, but he ignored the decision and continued to work.
The Department of Needs and Distribution of Internal Trade in the West sent a letter to the commercial control in the governorate, stating that the aforementioned station is operating despite a decision to close it, and that it is spending large quantities of petroleum products, which are strategic commodities supported by the state, in violation of the law.
The Commercial Control, led by Inspector Fakhry Al-Essawi, codified procedures and launched a large-scale campaign during which the station was raided, and it was found that it was operating despite a decision to close it.
When the campaign requested from the responsible manager the station’s records, he presented them with completed records from May 19, 2012, and there are no records since that date, and the campaign scanned the station’s records and card, but the responsible manager refused to go with the campaign and agreed with them to go To them on the next day, and with it an inventory of the quantities dispensed during the period from the last records submitted so far.
During his presence the next day, he was confronted with the quantities dispensed by the company of diesel and gasoline 92 from January 1 to December 2014, estimated at “6.956,500” liters of diesel and 1.950,500 liters of gasoline 92.
Al-Issawi pointed out that by calculating these quantities to collect the state’s support teams, it was found that the amount seized was 44.535 million pounds, in violation of Decree-Law No. 95 of 1945 and its rates and Ministerial Resolution 102 of 2011 and its rates for regulating the circulation of petroleum products as they are strategic commodities controlled by the state .
Al-Essawi added that facing the officials of “Total Egypt” at “Marhoum” station to collect the support teams, they admitted that it is one of the company's branches, and that they are not responsible for collecting the support differences, stressing that the responsible manager fled the campaign when he was arrested.
And he ended his speech with questions, including: Does the General Petroleum Corporation get the subsidy differences from Total Egypt? And does the Minister of Supply and the Governor of Al-Gharbia monitor the company’s branches in the governorate and the branches of other companies and hold the violators accountable?
