Yaqoub explained that coordination was made with the Central Administration for Environmental Affairs and the General Administration for Food Control at the Ministry of Health, and the hypermarket was surprised by a joint campaign by the holders of the judicial police at the Department of Investigations in the Agency, and the food inspectors at the Ministry of Health, with the guidance of the complainant, and by examining the product subject of the complaint was seized in a section bearing the name "Bab al-Sham" inside the hypermarket.

The product was experimented with by placing an amount of about ten grams of rice in a glass cup and placing a quantity of lukewarm water on it, and it was found that the rice loses its distinctive yellow color, and the dye separates and dissolves in the water, indicating that the rice has a color added, and it was also evident that the rice has an unpleasant smell. .

In addition, an expired white pepper product, Qarn chili products, mogat, and whole beans for the dumpling, mustard, coriander, cowpea, sumac, cinnamon powder, ginger, caraway, and thyme were seized without data, and samples of these products were taken and sent to laboratories to identify Its suitability for human consumption.

A report of the procedures was issued and registered with No. 10055/2006, a second misdemeanor for New Cairo to be presented to the Public Prosecution. Three reports were also issued by the food inspectors for violating the Minister of Health’s Decree No. 96 of 1967, to address the Secretary General of Cairo Governorate for the administrative closure of the absence of a license for the hyper.

Yaqoub emphasized that the agency pays great attention to protecting the consumer from harmful practices, especially those that may harm his health and safety, by adopting a policy of "prevention is better than treatment" by adopting proactive measures to educate and alert the consumer of some harmful goods or products, after confirming the information in this regard. In addition to the seizure of counterfeit and unknown goods before they are sold to the consumer.

Yaqoub emphasized that the campaigns of the Consumer Protection Agency to control the markets will continue during the coming period intensively to combat all harmful practices to consumer rights, and to stop the circulation of non-conforming goods that harm consumers rights, health and safety.

He appealed to the masses of consumers to assist the agency by paying attention to reporting any complaints they have so that the Consumer Protection Agency can take action against violators and control the markets, and the agency receives reports on the hotline 19588 or through the consumer protection application on mobile devices.
