Partners for Transparency releases its monthly report “Corruption Status Book” for the month of March

Within the framework of the “Corruption Cases Book” series, “Partners for Transparency” Foundation continues to issue monthly reports to monitor and follow up incidents of corruption in Egypt, which focus on monitoring and analyzing legislative and procedural developments related to combating corruption, as well as listing the incidents that were revealed during March 2023. , and classifying them by sector and geographically, with the aim of identifying the sectors that most witness incidents of corruption, as well as the most governorates in which these incidents are concentrated.
March recorded a slight decrease in the number of corruption incidents, as 135 incidents were recorded, compared to 140 corruption incidents recorded last February, which represents a decrease of 2% in the corruption rate, while incidents of corruption related to catering are still at the forefront of the most corrupt incidents, as 71 incidents were recorded Corruption with a percentage of 52 % out of the total incidents witnessed in the month of March, followed directly by the agriculture sector and land encroachments with a number of 25 incidents and a percentage of 18 % out of the total incidents under study, and the health sector came in third place with 19 incidents of corruption and a percentage of 14 % out of the total incidents of corruption.

Geographically, and repeatedly, Al-Buhaira Governorate ranked first among the Egyptian governorates in terms of corruption incidents during the month of March, by recording 15 incidents, with a percentage of 11 % of the total incidents, while 3 governorates together recorded a rate of 26 % of the total incidents of corruption at the level of the Republic. Making them the most corrupt governorates during March, and the governorates are “Beheira, Gharbia, and Dakahlia.”
