Counselor Ali Rizk, head of the Administrative Prosecution Authority, issued a decision to open urgent investigations, regarding what was stated in the reports of some supervisory authorities regarding the release of hazardous industrial waste, which is prohibited from entering the country.
This comes after some importers smuggled foreign-made goods, which are banned from import, consisting of polypropylene and recycled polyethylene granules, without presenting them to the EEAA.
Earlier, a criminal case was initiated against the importing company after the release of 29 customs certificates from Safaga customs, and a ruling was issued in which the accused was fined an amount of one thousand pounds and obligated to pay the amount of 15 million and 978 thousand pounds.
