The representative of the International Alliance for Peace and Development (Geneva) made a joint intervention with the Partners for Transparency Foundation before the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, today, June 18th, on racism in the United States, Partners for Transparency condemned the killing of the young "George Floyd", reminding us of the killing The young black "Dante Yarber" was shot 20 times by the US police as well, the young man "Stephon Clark", who was shot dead by police in California, and other violent incidents against African Americans.
The association believes that the United States has never succeeded in eliminating the "virus" of racism. Although all laws point to the formal end to racism, the practice often shows the opposite among people on the basis of color and race. Current practices exclude African Americans from educational, health, and housing opportunities, among others.
The General Union of Demonstrations condemned the violent handling of the demonstrations and the threat of violence instead of containing the demonstrations
Although the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and the Universal Declaration against Racism, Racial Discrimination and Xenophobia have played a positive role in many countries of the world, there is a problem with implementation in the United States, as the fight against racism is a long and complex process.
Therefore, Partners for Transparency recommended the necessity to expose and condemn any racist practices in all ways and means, including peaceful demonstrations to declare solidarity with victims of racial discrimination. The protesters
Partners for Transparency supported the demands for the formation of an independent international investigation committee, and stressed the need to bring perpetrators of violence to justice and a fair and effective trial.
This oral intervention came from the partners' international interest in transparency in facing extremism and hate speech, and its impact is a clear violation of human rights as a basic goal that the organization seeks to achieve through many regional and international institutions in which the organization has the capacity. To participate in it because PFT enjoys a consultative status in the United Nations Economic and Social Council and the African Economic, Social and Cultural Council, as well as being elected as Chair of the Egyptian Network of the Anna Lindh Euro-Mediterranean Network for Intercultural Dialogue.
