A joint intervention by Partners for Transparency within the Human Rights Council in Geneva condemning the human rights situation in Turkey. The intervention was delivered by Professor Ghassan Mahmoud Al-Astal, brother of Palestinian journalist Ahmed Al-Astal forcibly disappeared by the Turkish government, and condemns the torture and intimidation practices of his brother before The Turkish authorities, and the Council calls on international organizations and the special representatives to do everything in their power to conduct country visits and investigative missions in cases of torture and arbitrary detention in Turkey
