Partners for Transparency issues the first report of the "Corruption Journal" Monitor

71 corruption incidents in July 2015, with municipalities, health and oil at the top of the list

Foundation released Partners for Transparency (PFT)  Its first monthly report of the “Corruption Status Book series of reports”, which covers the period from (1-31) July 2015, as the Foundation launched, from July 1, 2015, an observatory to track corruption incidents that are uncovered through the media, regulatory agencies and relevant investigation authorities, as well as For following up on the procedures of the state concerned with the case.

The report comes within the framework of “Partners for Transparency (PFT )’s conviction that uncovering, monitoring and tracking corruption practices is a necessary weapon in the system of war against corruption, as well as assisting decision-making authorities to adopt policies, legislative measures and implementation steps aimed at reducing the phenomenon and holding perpetrators of corruption crimes accountable.

The report reviewed the governmental measures taken during the month of July 2015, and revealed that they included the establishment of coordinating bodies to combat corruption, but they did not include specific mechanisms that guarantee the efficiency of work within these bodies, and it did not set a time limit for the completion of these bodies from their work.

The report also reviewed the President's decision that allows him to dismiss the heads of the supervisory bodies, which was the subject of great controversy in the Egyptian society, as many dealt with the decision as targeting the person of the current head of the Central Auditing Organization, and although the Presidency Institution denied targeting a specific person, it did not reveal in any way. It is clear about the dimensions and justifications for issuing the decision, especially since some see a contradiction between the decision and some of the provisions of the Egyptian constitution

In terms of facts, the report revealed that the month of July 2015 witnessed 71 corruption incidents, 11 of which were in the local authorities, 9 in the Ministry of Health, 8 in the petroleum sector, 6 in agriculture and the same in the effects, 5 in youth and sports, 4 in Al Dakhiliya, and the rest were distributed among Several other sectors with rates ranging from one incident to three incidents.

The report also revealed that the number of cases under investigation ranks first among corruption cases this month, with a score of 24, and then comes the cases that have not been investigated with a score of 22 incidents, followed by the cases under trial with 19 incidents, and finally the cases that have been adjudicated Last place, with 6 facts, was completed with various penalties.
