Partners for Transparency issues the seventh report of the Corruption Status Book  

138 incidents of corruption ... and health is at the top of the list

Within the framework of the “Corruption Status Book” series, “Partners for Transparency” PFT issued the seventh report, which included monitoring and analysis of corruption facts, in January 2016, in conjunction with the issuance of the annual corruption perceptions report of Transparency International, which showed Egypt's ranking from 94th in the world to Ranked 88th in the world, in addition to what the month witnessed in the statements of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which included assurances of the state's determination to fight corruption.

The month of January 2016 also witnessed the issuance of the report of the fact-finding committee formed by the President of the Republic to verify the correctness of the figures contained in the statements of Counselor Hisham Geneina, which he released in December 2015, in which the cost of corruption in Egypt was estimated at 600 billion pounds in four years, as the committee concluded in its report inaccuracy The facts and referred the whole matter to the House of Representatives as the supervisory authority, and the matter is still pending.

The report monitored 138 corruption incidents that were uncovered in January 2016, and the Ministry of Health received the largest share of corruption incidents with a score of 23 corruption incidents, followed by the local sector with 20 incidents of corruption, after that comes the Ministry of Supply with 18 incidents of corruption, followed by the Ministry of Education Education and the Ministry of Agriculture with 9 incidents of corruption, followed by the Ministry of Interior with 6 incidents.

With regard to the judicial position of corruption incidents, the report indicated that the facts under investigation came first among corruption incidents during January 2016, with a score of 89 incidents, followed by the facts that were not investigated with a score of 24 incidents, after that came the facts under trial with 22 incidents, and finally In January, the events that were judged came last, with only 3 incidents.
