"Jad Al-Karim": Electoral bribes are the main drawbacks of the MP elections

Mona Obaid

Dr. Walaa Jad Al-Karim, President of the Partners Foundation for Transparency, said that the conduct of the electoral process for the second phase of the 2015 parliamentary elections witnessed many positive aspects extending from the first phase, most notably the neutrality of the state, its executive apparatus and security forces, as well as the body overseeing the electoral process.

"Jad Al-Karim" added, in exclusive statements to "Vito", today, Wednesday, that the second phase of the elections also witnessed the disappearance of the features of the systematic fraud that Egypt was witnessing before the glorious January revolution, and this is the result of a real societal will that is unwilling to go back.

The President of the Foundation pointed out the negatives that marred the polling days, from the candidates paying electoral bribes to the voters, and that about 20% of the candidates relied on bribes to direct the votes of the voters in their favor.

"Jad Al-Karim" explained that the rates of electoral bribes in the second phase of the elections were shocking, many and intense in the vicinity of the polling stations, which was not witnessed by Egypt before even before the January revolution, pointing out that more than 20% of candidates relied on electoral bribes to direct the votes of the electorate. For them.
