Walaa Gad, director of the Partners for Transparency Foundation, said that it is not permissible to prevent any human rights activist from traveling without justifications or incriminating cases, as happened with the human rights activist Gamal Eid.

Gad added, in a statement to "The Journal of Egypt" that freedom of movement is guaranteed and it is not correct to prevent anyone from traveling because of freedom of opinion, because he did not kill and flee, nor did he steal state funds.

Gad called on the concerned authorities to issue a statement explaining their justification for preventing Gamal Eid from traveling, noting that Eid is not wanted in any cases, and he has not been prevented from traveling before.
