Dr. Walaa Jad Al-Karim, president of the "Partners for Transparency" organization, said that the visit of the NCHR delegation revealed a significant decline in the cooperation of the Ministry of Interior with the National Council for Human Rights regarding the conditions of prisons and prisoners.

"Gad Al-Karim", in exclusive statements to "Vito", explained that this deal is not consistent with the positive interior policy, during the past six months, in which it has followed a path of transparency and clarity, pointing out that this behavior undermines any plan to reform conditions inside Egyptian prisons.

He pointed out that the visit was characterized by obscurity, through the insistence of the “Scorpion” prison administration that some members, such as Rajia Omran, should not enter the delegation, and this in itself raises doubts about what is happening inside Tora high-security prison, “Scorpion”.

The “President of the Foundation” stressed that the Council’s members ’visit to prisons should be done through notification, independent of the permission of the prosecution and the approval of the interior.

It is noteworthy that a delegation from the National Council for Human Rights visited Scorpion Prison last Tuesday morning, after the Council received a number of complaints from prisoners and their families, including medical and living ill-treatment, prevention of visits, medicine and winter clothes, and the delegation included: “George Ishaq and Dr. Salah Salam, Dr. Shahenda Moqled, Kamal Abbas, Nevin Massad, and Muhammad Abdulaziz.
