First Annual Report of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Support Index - 2024

Partners for Transparency has released the “Inaugural Annual Report of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Support Index – 2024”. The report provides an analysis of efforts to promote integrity and combat corruption in the Arab region and the Middle East, focusing on 25 countries in the Middle East and Arab region. It also highlights the importance of providing data to citizens and implementing strong anti-corruption measures to achieve stability and sustainable growth.

The report reviews the legal and legislative contexts in force in the region, and concludes that there is weakness in the legal and institutional frameworks in most countries, in addition to the discrepancy between the practices of the relevant agencies and the applicable laws. Through the report, the Partners for Transparency Foundation reached a number of general conclusions, including that there is a clear relationship between the state of stability that the country is experiencing at the security and political levels, and its ability to implement effective policies to combat corruption.

The Partners Foundation also confirms that its report revealed an urgent need to enhance citizens’ ability to access government information and data in a smoother and more secure manner, which can be achieved through a law on the circulation of information, at a time when a number of Arab countries need a law to protect witnesses, whistleblowers and victims of corruption, a matter to which the United Nations Convention against Corruption has given great importance.
