Partners for Transparency issues its monthly report “Corruption Cases Book” for the month of January 164 corruption incidents in January, and intensive monitoring campaigns to control supply violations in the markets

Within the framework of the “Corruption Cases Book” series, the “Partners for Transparency” Foundation continues to issue monthly reports to monitor and follow up incidents of corruption in Egypt, which focus on monitoring and analyzing legislative and procedural developments related to combating corruption, as well as listing the incidents that were revealed during the month of January. 2023, and classify them sectorally and geographically, with the aim of identifying the sectors that most witness incidents of corruption, as well as the most governorates in which these incidents are concentrated.
According to the Foundation's report, January recorded 164 corruption incidents in a number of different sectors, while incidents of corruption related to catering are still at the forefront of the most corrupt incidents, as 104 corruption incidents were recorded, with a percentage of 63 % of the total incidents witnessed in January, followed directly by the agricultural sector and violations of Territories with 26 incidents and 16 % of the total incidents under study, and the health sector ranked third with 25 incidents of corruption and 15 % of the total incidents of corruption.

Geographically, and repeatedly, the Buhaira governorate ranked first among the Egyptian governorates in terms of corruption incidents during the month of January, by recording 15 incidents, with a percentage of % of the total incidents, while 3 governorates together recorded a rate of 1TP2222 of the total corruption incidents at the level of the Republic. This made them the most corrupt governorates during January, and the governorates are “Beheira, Gharbia, and Menoufia.”
