The head of the Partners for Transparency Foundation made a brief intervention today during the interactive dialogue with the Special Rapporteur on Privacy on the sidelines of the 61st session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. She expressed her deep concern about the rapid expansion in the use of digital surveillance technologies and the export of spyware by Israeli companies. She recommended the necessity of establishing strict international controls to regulate the export of surveillance technologies and ensure that they are not used to violate privacy and digital rights.
