On sidelines of the 62nd session of the UN Human Rights Council, convened a side event at the Palais des Nations on: “Emergency Powers, Human Rights and the Rule of Law in the United States: Article 4 of the ICCPR, Transnational Repression and Extraterritorial Accountability.”

Keynote speakers included Professor George Katrougalos, UN Independent Expert on the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order; Professor Attiya Waris, UN Independent Expert on foreign debt and human rights; Mr. Abdelwahab Hani, former member of the UN Committee against Torture; Mr. Stefan Ziegler, humanitarian practitioner, Associate Professor and filmmaker; and Mr. Sharof Azizov, Executive Director of JPTi.
