Within the framework of the “Corruption Status Book” series, “Partners for Transparency” PFT continues to issue monthly reports to monitor and follow up incidents of corruption, and here is the twelfth report issued by the institution, as it focuses on monitoring and analyzing legislative and procedural developments related to combating corruption, as well as counting the facts that It was covered by various media during the month of June 2016.
The month of June witnessed a televised advertising campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of corruption aimed at modifying the behavior and values of citizens to combat wasta, favoritism, and bureaucratic procedures of officials in government ministries, and there were reports that this campaign was funded by international organizations and was implemented by the Administrative Control Authority and was broadcast by Egyptian channels for free without being paid. Legislative and procedural developments to combat corruption during June 2016:
The month of June 2016 witnessed several statements by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi aimed at emphasizing the fight against corruption and the independence of the regulatory bodies, as well as statements by officials and representatives of Parliament in the same direction, but he did not witness corresponding developments in the legislative or procedural environment, and June also witnessed the prosecution investigation with the President The forerunner of the Central Auditing Organization, Counselor Hisham Geneina, in the case of his statements about the cost of corruption, which he said on the contrary was a report issued by a committee set up by the president to investigate the statements, and the following is a presentation of the most important statements and related activities that were monitored during the month of June 2016: -

First: Distribution of corruption incidents according to sectors:

The previous data indicate that the Ministry of Supply had the largest share of corruption incidents during the month of June 2016 with a score of 15 corruption incidents out of a total of 83 incidents, followed by the Ministry of Agriculture with a score of 10 corruption incidents, then the localities came with 9 incidents of corruption, then the Ministry of Interior with 7 incidents Followed by the Ministry of Investment and Transport with 6 incidents, followed by the Ministry of Education, Communications, Information Technology and Health with 4 incidents of corruption for each of them, and then comes the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Justice with 3 incidents of corruption each, then comes Each of the regulatory agencies, the Ministry of Housing and the businessmen sector scored 2 incidents of corruption, and finally, the Ministry of Irrigation and Water Resources, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Endowments, the Presidency, Parliament and the Ministry of Culture came with only one incident in the last place.
Second: Distribution of corruption incidents according to the position of the case:

The previous data indicate that the incidents under investigation came first among corruption incidents during June 2016, as they received the largest percentage of 67% out of a total of 83 incidents, followed by the incidents under trial with 17 %, then the incidents that were not investigated came with a score of 11 %, and finally came the facts. The previous data indicate that Cairo governorate got the largest share of corruption incidents during the month of June 2016 due to the geographical distribution of 24 corruption incidents, followed by Giza governorate with 16 incidents of corruption, followed by Qalyubia governorate with 7 incidents, then Alexandria governorate with 6 incidents. Then came the governorates of Ismailia, Menoufia and Minya with 4 incidents of corruption for each of them, followed by the governorates of Beheira, Gharbia, Fayoum, Beni Suef, Sohag, Sharkia, and Wadi al-Jadid with a score of 2 incidents for each of them.
