The Partners for Transparency Foundation monitored 64 incidents of corruption last July, indicating that they are incidents that were uncovered through the investigation authorities, Parliament and various media outlets.

The thirteenth report, which included monitoring and analyzing the facts of corruption, confirmed that the month of July 2016 witnessed the discovery of the largest corruption case in wheat silos, which was a fake recording of the quantities of wheat in silos, which represents a waste of public money, which prompted Parliament to form a fact-finding committee to uncover corruption in wheat silos. Where the committee made several visits.

The committee clarified that the amount of money wasted during only nine visits is estimated at 600 million pounds until the end of July, and confirmed that it will issue a final report on the wasted money, which prompted the prosecution to summon approximately 36 people, including a senior official in the Ministry of Supply and a businessman, to be involved in this case.

The month also witnessed statements by some parliamentarians about local corruption, as the report stated that at the level of facts, the Ministry of Supply had the largest share of corruption incidents during the month of July 2016, with 15 corruption incidents out of a total of 64 incidents, followed by the Ministry of Agriculture with 10 incidents of corruption, followed by the local sector. There are 9 incidents, followed by the health sector with 8 incidents of corruption, then the Ministries of Electricity and Justice come with 3 incidents each.

As for the judicial position, the report revealed that the incidents under investigation came first among the corruption incidents during the month of July 2016, as the largest percentage was recorded at 66% out of a total of 64 incidents, followed by the incidents under trial, with a score of 11%, then the incidents that were not investigated came with a score of 17%, The incidents judged come last with a 6% score of total incidents.

The report pointed out that with regard to geographical distribution, Cairo governorate still occupies the largest share of corruption incidents during the month of July 2016, due to the concentration of administrative headquarters in it, with 23 corruption incidents, followed by Sharkia governorate with 5 incidents of corruption, followed by Minya and Sohag governorate with 4 incidents for each who are they.
