Jurists: The Interior Ministry practices fraud ... and its behavior is disastrous

A document that was accidentally received in the security notice, which is sent periodically to journalists, that was the Ministry of Interior's memorandum to deal with the crisis of storming the Press Syndicate.

According to the published memorandum, the plan relied on coordination with a number of former generals to appear on satellite channels to defend the position of the Ministry of Interior, following up: “The escalation on the part of the Journalists Syndicate is a deliberate escalation by the Syndicate of Journalists, Yahya Qalash, and some members of the Syndicate’s Council of people with inclinations, the most prominent of whom is Khaled Al-Balshi - Jamal Abd al-Rahim - Muhammad Abd al-Quddus - Hanan Fekry - and others “from the council’s members in order to achieve electoral gains. This position will not be reversed in the near future except after some gains are achieved,” according to the statement’s claim.
A defect inside the system

Amr Imam, a member of the Front for Defense of Egyptian Protesters, refused to consider the speech as a clear strategy by the Interior Ministry to deal with the crisis, explaining that the matter reveals more about a defect within the system.

He added in statements to “Masr al-Arabia” that the Interior Ministry had what he described as “indifference and irresponsibility” regarding the matter and the incident of storming the Syndicate despite the fact that the incident is historical and did not happen before.

Imam described the method revealed by the memorandum mistakenly sent to the Syndicate of Journalists as "recklessness", although the matter could have been solved easily instead of following a policy of denial, he said.

Try to mislead

For his part, Walaa Jad, director of Partners for Transparency, presented several scenarios about the sent note, considering that either the Ministry of Interior is infiltrated and anyone can access the secret notes, or that its media system suffers from weakness.

He pointed out that in the event that the memorandum is correct, the matter is catastrophic, as far as he described, explaining that it indicates that there is an intention on the part of the ministry to mislead the public opinion by seeking the help of some previous police leaders to speak in a way that measures the truth about what happened.

He stressed that the Ministry of Interior must be held accountable for the way this document was leaked, to clarify the matter through it about what was mentioned in it and try to mislead.

The Egyptian security forces arrested two journalists, Amr Badr and Mahmoud El-Sakka, from within the Journalists Syndicate on Sunday, which was considered by the Syndicate to break into its headquarters, in an unprecedented measure in its history.

However, the Ministry of the Interior confirmed in a statement that the arrest of Badr and Al-Sakka came in accordance with the decision of the prosecution, and in coordination with the security official in the Syndicate, and that the two journalists "surrendered themselves voluntarily and without using any kind of force."
