"Gad": The decrease in grants for civil society organizations has nothing to do with the anniversary of the revolution

Walaa Jad, president of Partners for Transparency, said that the reason behind the decline in grants for civil society organizations is the fear of funding agencies from pumping during the current circumstances, adding that the political and legal climate of the country limits this process significantly.

Gad added, in a special statement to “The Journal of Egypt”, today, Friday, that a large number of organizations requesting grants have not been approved by the Ministry of Social Solidarity, indicating that the decrease in grants has nothing to do with the anniversary of the revolution, saying, “The revolution is a momentary period and a specific occasion Grants are not related to a period or event. It is a continuous process that takes from 6 months to a year, and therefore it is not related to the revolution in anything.

This came as a comment on the decrease in granting civil society organizations 50% from last December to January.
