Partners for Transparency: 85 corruption incidents in September ... and legislative measures are absent

Today, Monday, Partners for Transparency (PFT) released its third monthly report, of the "Corruption Status Book Series", which covers the period from (1-30) September 2015, and the report focused on monitoring and analyzing legislative and procedural developments related to fighting corruption, As well as counting the facts that were reported by various media during the month of September 2015.
In September 2015, the monitoring process revealed 85 incidents of corruption, a decrease of 20% than what was detected in August.
The report indicated that the government's statements related to combating corruption were "more intense" this month than before, and the main reason for this may be the political and media uproar that accompanied the disclosure of the Ministry of Agriculture corruption scandal, then the change of the prime minister and a number of its ministers, and thus the tendency A large number of officials "to declare" hard-line stances towards corruption within their sectors.
But at the same time, legislative solutions are still “absent” from the scene, despite its strong political positions, the most prominent of which was the acceptance of the government's resignation, but the state did not intervene during the month of September with laws and decisions that would deal with the phenomenon of widespread corruption in Egypt.
The report also revealed that the Ministry of Supply and Localities came on top of the sectors that witness corruption for the second month in a row, with a score of 18 and 12 incidents in the two sectors respectively during the month of September.
The report added that the number of cases under investigation ranks first among corruption incidents during the month of September with a score of 60, followed by cases under trial with 14 cases, and then comes the cases that have been decided with a score of 7 cases, and finally, the cases that have not been investigated come. In last place with only 4 issues
