The Independent Foundation said, in a report, today, Wednesday, that “the Ministry of Supply has the largest balance in the number of corruption and waste of public money cases, about 16 incidents,” in addition to the localities and health, and the governorates of Cairo and Giza are the most possessing corruption incidents.
Regarding the legal position and measures taken regarding incidents of corruption, the report revealed that the incidents under investigation come first among the corruption incidents. The largest percentage was recorded, with 74%, out of a total of 94 incidents.
Followed by the cases under trial with a percentage of 12%, then the facts that were adjudicated by the rate of 9%, and the facts that were not investigated came in the last place with a percentage of 5% of the total cases, which means that 95% of the incidents under litigation procedures.
The 21st "Partners for Transparency" PFT report comes within the framework of a series of reports on the state of corruption that deal with monitoring and analysis of legislative and procedural developments related to combating corruption, as well as listing the facts that were revealed during the month of March 2017, and classifying them sectorally, geographically and judicially.
According to Transparency International, which is concerned with combating corruption, Egypt's position in the corruption index deteriorated by two degrees in 2016, scoring 34 points, compared to 36 the previous year.
Egypt ranked 108 in the corruption index out of 176 countries included in the index in 2016, and was ranked 88 out of 168 countries in 2015.
