Partners for Transparency issued its twenty-first report in the Corruption Status Book series, which dealt with monitoring and analysis of legislative and procedural developments related to combating corruption, in addition to inventorying the facts that were disclosed during the month of March 2017 and classifying them sectorally, geographically and judicially.

The foundation said in its report, Tuesday, that the month of March 2017 witnessed the holding of a number of events and activities in some academic institutions, ministries and government departments in the context of anti-corruption awareness and education. In addition, there were frequent statements by some officials related to the nature of the general trend and the political performance related to combating corruption and wasting public money, and Parliamentarian Anisa Hassouna stated that the law proposal submitted by her to establish a coordinating body to combat corruption was close to discussion.

The report indicated that the month of March 2017 witnessed 94 incidents of corruption that were uncovered through the media and the concerned bodies. For the first time, incidents of corruption in the Ministry of Supply witnessed a relative decline from last month, "16 incidents in March compared to 17 in February."

The report revealed that the incidents under investigation came first among corruption incidents during the month of March 2017, as the largest percentage was recorded at 74% out of a total of 94 incidents, followed by the incidents under trial with a score of 12%, and then came the incidents that were judged by 9 %.
