The organization “Partners for Transparency” delivered an oral intervention before the Working Group on Transparency and Reporting during the discussion of reports submitted by governments and parliaments on arms transfers and trade. Partners for Transparency emphasized that transparency is a fundamental pillar for promoting the effective implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty. The organization also called for strengthening the role of parliaments in reviewing these reports and for exchanging experiences among countries regarding best practices related to parliamentary oversight and public access to information.
