The Partners for Transparency Foundation (independent) uncovered 94 incidents of corruption within the ministries of the Egyptian government, only last March.
The Foundation said, in a report, that «the Ministry of Supply has the largest balance of the number of corruption cases, with about 16 incidents.
The Foundation stated that the report comes through monitoring and analyzing procedural and legislative developments, and statements related to combating corruption, as well as monitoring and analyzing corruption incidents that have been revealed or published through various media outlets.
The Corruption Perceptions Index for 2016, announced by Transparency International, said that Egypt was more corrupt in 2016, compared to the year before last.
According to Transparency International, which is concerned with combating corruption, Egypt's position on the corruption index deteriorated by two degrees in 2016, registering 34 points, compared to 36 the previous year.
Egypt ranked 108 in the corruption index out of 176 countries included in the index in 2016, and was ranked 88 out of 168 countries in 2015.
