Partners for Transparency condemns the blatant attacks by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinians in the squares of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, from cases of forced displacement and forced evictions of homes illegally.
As the Israeli forces attacked the Palestinians again in the squares of Al-Aqsa Mosque on May 7, 2021, by throwing tear gas canisters inside the mosque and its health clinics, which resulted in more than 200 Palestinian injuries, in addition to the attacks on citizens in the Sheikh neighborhood. Jarrah using bullets, tear gas canisters and sound explosions that cause a state of terror among the citizens.
On her part, Mirna Shalash, the Executive Director of the Partners Foundation, expressed her dissatisfaction with the continuation of the Israeli settlement policy that is based on ethnic cleansing, through tools including the confiscation of land and property for the benefit of Israeli settlement associations, in flagrant violation of international legal rules prohibiting forced population transfer. As well as annexation and apartheid.
Accordingly, Partners for Transparency provides a set of recommendations, in the context of its keenness to support the values of integrity, transparency and good governance, as follows:
First: The need for pressure from the international community, especially the Security Council, to stop such violations, as they represent a clear violation of the rights of the Palestinian people.
Second: It is also important, in this context, to stimulate support institutions in order to provide more financial resources necessary for the survival of many Palestinians, in a manner that ensures the availability of minimum human rights.
Third: Likewise, an independent committee must be formed by international institutions concerned with the protection of human rights, in order to uncover those involved in any violations of the right of the Palestinian people, and to ensure a deterrent punishment for all violators of the law.
