Partners for Transparency Association (PFT) released the twenty-second report of the Corruption Status Book series of reports, which dealt with monitoring and analysis of legislative and procedural developments related to combating corruption, as well as counting the facts that were revealed during the month of April 2017, and classifying them sectorally, geographically and judicially.

The report stated that last April witnessed some parliamentarians using some monitoring tools to inquire from the government about the fate of anti-corruption laws and the executive position on amending them, and the Administrative Control Authority also witnessed the monitoring of the implementation rates of the Ministerial Committee's decisions to resolve investment disputes for a number of ministries and agencies. The monitoring results showed the commitment of the ministries of electricity, transport, environmental affairs, and the General Investment Authority to implement the decisions, in return for their slow implementation in the ministries of housing, local development, Cairo governorate, while the ministries of finance, agriculture, industry and commerce, Matrouh governorate, and the interest of the month did not end. Real Estate is responsible for implementing any decisions issued by the committee, which clearly indicates that there is a lack of harmony between some state institutions with regard to creating a suitable environment for investment.

The report indicated that the month of April 2017 witnessed 68 incidents of corruption that were exposed through the media and the concerned bodies, as the incidents of corruption in the Ministry of Supply continued their remarkable decline, recording 12 incidents compared to 16 incidents last month. On the other hand, the agriculture and health sectors witnessed - and to a lesser extent, the localities - Continuing the high rates of corruption inside it during the month of April.
Geographically .. Cairo governorate still acquired the largest share of corruption incidents during the month of April 2017 due to the concentration of administrative headquarters in it, as it witnessed 19 corruption incidents during April 2017, followed by Beheira, Alexandria and Giza governorates with 6 incidents for each of them, then Minya Governorate With only 4 incidents.
