Partners for Transparency: 51 corruption incidents last December

Partners for Transparency Foundation said in its eighteenth report in the “Corruption Status Book” series that last December witnessed 51 corruption incidents, including 10 in the Ministry of Supply, 9 in the localities sector, 7 in the Ministry of Agriculture, and 5 in the Ministry of Agriculture.  The report pointed out that December witnessed the largest corruption incident that was revealed through the Administrative Control Authority, which is the case of the arrest of a senior employee of the State Council on charges of taking a bribe and seizing 155 million pounds in his possession, and the consequent arrest of the former Secretary General of the State Council, which reports mentioned He was found to have committed suicide in his prison, and that December witnessed the first public appearance of the Head of Administrative Control, speaking of her role in the previous monitoring of the national projects that are inaugurated.
With regard to the judicial position, the incidents under investigation came first among corruption incidents in December, as the largest percentage was recorded at 70%, followed by the incidents that were judged 14%, then the facts under trial by 10 %, then the incidents that were not investigated came with a score of 6% .
Cairo governorate got the largest share of corruption incidents during December with a percentage of 33% of corruption incidents, followed by Beheira governorate with a rate of 11%, followed by Giza governorate with a percentage of 10%, while Menoufia and Qena governorates got 8% for each.
