Partners for Transparency Organization (PFT) issued its nineteenth report to monitor and follow up incidents of corruption, as it focuses on monitoring and analyzing legislative and procedural developments related to combating corruption, as well as counting the incidents that were reported by various media during the month of January 2017.

The report confirmed that the month of January 2017 witnessed 66 incidents of corruption, while there was no change in the legislative or institutional environment related to combating corruption, and the month did not witness only frequent statements here and there by a number of officials, all of which talk about fighting corruption, without translating these statements when It is further.

The report monitored the statements of officials and MPs regarding anti-corruption measures, highlighting the recommendations of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his praise of the efforts of the head of the Central Auditing Organization, Counselor Hisham Badawi, directing to continue his role in financial and legal oversight, and to follow up the implementation of plans developed in various state institutions.

The report stressed that the Ministry of Supply still ranks first among corruption incidents, with a score of 16 out of a total of 66 corruption incidents during the month of January 2017, followed by the local sector with 11 incidents of corruption, then the Ministry of Education, Agriculture and Health comes with 6 incidents for each of them. Then comes the Ministry of Information, Endowments, and Electricity, with two incidents for each of them, and finally the Ministry of Communications, Information Technology, Housing, Social Solidarity, Higher Education, Culture, Interior, and the Businessmen Sector comes with only one incident for each of them out of a total of 66 corruption incidents. .

He continued: “The incidents under investigation ranked first among corruption incidents during the month of January 2017, as the largest percentage was recorded at 76% out of a total of 66 incidents, followed by the incidents under trial with 23% out of the total number of incidents, the incidents that were judged came last at a rate of % Of the total 66 incidents of corruption.

The report indicated that Cairo governorate is still in the first place in terms of corruption incidents, as it got 21 corruption incidents, followed by Qalyubia governorate with 6 incidents, followed by Giza and Eastern governorates with 5 incidents for each of them, while Beheira, Menoufia, Gharbia and New Valley each got And Assiut with 3 incidents for each of them, while Qena, Fayoum, Alexandria, Minya, Sohag, and Damietta each got two corruption incidents for each of them, while Beni Suef and the Red Sea got the last place with one corruption incident for each of them out of a total of 66 corruption incidents.
