The Partners for Transparency Foundation (PFT) called on the major charitable work and relief organizations operating in Egypt to adopt a more transparent and disclosed approach regarding the financial resources available to them and their spending items, and indicated that there are many evidences confirming the huge spending on advertising for charitable organizations, Especially during Ramadan.

She explained that most charities do not publish their detailed financial budgets on their website, which violates the right of donors to track the source of their money and the terms of their spending, and the only exception among these institutions is the Egyptian Food Bank, which published a semi-detailed budget for 2014 on its website.

Dr. Walaa Jad Al-Karim, Director General of Partners for Transparency, said that the Foundation is currently planning to prepare a study on “Levels of Transparency, Disclosure and Accountability” at charitable organizations that depend on individual donations. The study will be conducted on a group of major charitable organizations registered as NGOs and NGOs. .
