"Partners for Transparency" is a non-governmental organization, registered in accordance with the provisions of Egyptian law under the number "9729" in December 2014, that respects independence and neutrality "politically" and "ideologically". Citizens for Transparency Program 

Citizens for Transparency Program is an initiative implemented by Partners for Transparency in a number of governorates with the aim of engaging youth and local civil society organizations in combating corruption by contributing to monitoring, detecting and investigating corruption cases, and developing local public policy proposals to ensure non-recurrence These facts

In the context of implementing the initiative, Partners for Transparency aims to design and implement an in-depth training program for 30 youth cadres, with the aim of providing them with knowledge and skills that help them play an effective societal role to enhance transparency and accountability and help the state combat corruption within their local communities.

The initiative seeks to enhance youth participation in making and directing public policies to reduce the phenomenon of corruption and reduce its negative impact on the quality of public services provided to citizens.

It is expected that young people will work after receiving training to transfer knowledge to their peers, and then form specific committees of a popular nature in each governorate to play an institutional role in combating corruption through public awareness, communication with relevant authorities, presenting visions and applicable policy alternatives, advocacy, advocacy and lobbying. Etc.

The aim of the initiative

The initiative aims to enable young activists at the local level to play an effective role in promoting transparency and combating corruption, and then enhancing youth participation in public life and local policy and decision-making, through a two-day workshop with a full stay for the participants. During the workshop, the participants will be trained on several topics. Important: the definition and features of the phenomenon of corruption and the relevant legal frameworks, monitoring, documentation and reporting skills, committee formation and team building skills, methods of awareness-raising about the role of citizens in combating corruption, and in general, these young people after completing the training will play an important role at the local level in implementing activities Awareness, then forming a youth committee at the governorate level, and continuous communication with a team of partners for transparency (the workshop will be held during the month of July), and young people will work with the Foundation for a period of 4 months with a monthly reward according to their performance in carrying out their tasks

Scope of the advisory mission:

The workshop aims to enable young activists at the local level to play an effective role in promoting transparency and combating corruption, and then enhancing youth participation in public life and local policy and decision-making. During the workshop, the participants will be trained on several important topics, namely:

  • Definition and features of the phenomenon of corruption and the relevant legal frameworks.
  • Monitoring, documentation and reporting skills.
  • Skills of forming committees and building work teams.
  • The awareness methods that youth can use to impart knowledge to their peers. 

Required outputs:

  • A training material that includes the previous topics
  • Implementation of the training program
  • The training workshop should come out with a time-bound plan of action in which each trainee holds at least one awareness session in his governorate, and the trainees from each governorate together form a youth committee concerned with promoting transparency that works at the governorate level, and develop a simplified guide for the committee's work.
  • Handing over the final work plan and guide for the work of the committees
  • Prepare the trainer report

Participant description:

  • 30 young men from 21 to 37 years old from 10 different governorates.

Implementation timeframe:

  • The workshop will be held for two days, with full accommodation, during the second half of July 2018.
