The Public Prosecution Office is investigating the accusation of officials of failing to protect the antiquities of the "New Valley"

The Public Prosecutor, Counselor Nabil Sadiq, the First Advocate General of the South Giza Public Prosecutions, commissioned an urgent investigation into the complaint submitted by lawyer Essam El-Deeb against the Minister of Antiquities, the Governor of the New Valley, and the Director of Dakhla Oasis Antiquities, for accusing them of failing to protect the archaeological areas in Dakhla, which caused their theft.
The report stated that the "Red Line" program, broadcast on the "Al-Hadath Al-Youm" channel, received information about the existence of archaeological tombs in various areas in the Al-Dakhiliya Oasis of the New Valley Governorate, which are being stolen in full view of officials and the failure of all the authorities in charge of protecting antiquities.
The author explained that the program took measures to document the incidents of theft and negligence by producing a film material that was filmed on the ground, and then the program’s author went to the archaeological areas, and indeed the information was verified, as he succeeded in obtaining an artifact from a grave without anyone intercepting it. According to the report, telegrams were sent to the Prime Minister, the Minister of Antiquities, and the Governor of the New Valley, which included the details of the incident, but the three parties did not take any measures to respond to the correspondence and receive the antiquities piece.
