Al Houthi continues terrorism under the silence of the international community

Partners for Transparency condemns the attack by the Yemeni terrorist Houthi militia, which targeted the Saudi Abha airport, in violation of international conventions, United Nations laws and international humanitarian law, which criminalizes targeting civilians during armed conflicts.

Partners stresses in its statement that the incidents of targeting Saudi lands by the Houthi militia are not new, but rather a repetition of the practices of the armed militia and a confirmation of its violation of international law. That militia does not stop targeting civilians, whether in Yemeni territories, in the incident targeting the Yemeni government at Aden airport and targeting the oil facility in Saudi Aramco. All bore the hallmarks of the Iran-backed Houthi group

And if the Partners for Transparency Foundation draws attention, this step comes in anticipation of the US administration’s decision to remove the Houthi group’s name from the US terrorist list, in new evidence that the practices of this group are outlaw practices that they only understand the language of force and that positive engagement with them does not produce results. Good on all political, security and humanitarian levels.

Partners for Transparency Foundation warns of the danger of such measures with terrorist groups such as the Houthi group, because this provides them with a political cover in order to carry out their terrorist acts and activities outside the law in undermining the concepts of democracy and respect for human rights, and the International Actors Association and international organizations warns of the need to do more. From pressure on the Houthi group and its international supporters to stop criminal acts and violate the human rights of Yemeni citizens

Therefore, we recommend Partners for Transparency in the US administration, international actors and the United Nations to be careful in taking such positive steps towards criminal militias such as the Houthi group, because these groups understand these steps as a green light for the continuation of their dangerous terrorist approach and their targeting of civilians, as well as recommending the partners of the UN envoy to Yemen that It plays its role in forcing the group to stop such criminal acts and forcing it to return to the table of political dialogue with the legitimate government in Yemen in order to stop these human rights violations and the targeting of civilians in Yemen and elsewhere
