In response to the accusations contained in the report of the Parliament's Fact-Finding Committee on the corruption of the wheat system and the waste of public money, the ministry returned, in a report it issued today, Tuesday, to which the former Minister of Supply Dr. Khaled Hanafi submitted his resignation. A technical modification in the system led to the suspension of the payment of a large number of cards of eligible citizens (which led to the issuance of Dr. Khaled Hanafi's instructions to find a quick solution to correct what was wrong).
The ministry clarified that there is a decision authorizing the governors, each in his area of competence, according to which the governor is authorized to take the necessary measures in the production and distribution of flour necessary for the production of bakeries, and thus the Supply Directorate is competent to offer to the governor to take the necessary action in this regard.
The "Supply" report added that the Giza Supply Directorate was instructed to take the necessary measures in light of the memorandum received from the South Cairo and Giza Mills Company to re-link the amount of flour used to the company, which was accused of assigning it to private mills at its expense.
He added, "The directorate entrusted the distribution of rations of Tabaki bakeries in Giza governorate to all mills in the governorate department, where the largest quantity was attached to the company, and rations of flour will be assigned in the event of opening new bakeries."
