Walaa Gad, director of Partners for Transparency, said that the protest law will not be presented to any committee, explaining that the laws that are presented are those that were issued during the era of President Sisi only after the constitution was approved in 2014 and the protest law was issued during the era of Adly Mansour<\/p>\n

He added that the state should not cancel the right to demonstrate because there is a well-established constitutional principle and international agreements that Egypt signed since 1982 and stipulates the right to demonstrate.
\nGad indicated to "The Journal of Egypt" that preventing demonstrations must be by a decision of the judicial authority and not from the Ministry of Interior, explaining that the demonstration is for the individual to notify the state that he is organizing a demonstration and presenting the objectives of the demonstration and this is a security measure that has no problems, and if the state sees that The demonstration is a threat to public security, harms social peace, or there is something in it that disrupts public interests. Laws go to the judiciary to issue a court ruling preventing the demonstration.<\/div>\n
The director of the Partners for Transparency Foundation added that the current law is for an individual to notify the Ministry of Interior of organizing a demonstration, so the Ministry refuses, and the order is given to the individual to go to the judiciary to obtain approval for the demonstration. Stressing that the Demonstration Law is one of the laws that have caused problems for two years, he clarified that it is not against the state to organize demonstrations and is not against the principle of notification.<\/div>\n
