{"id":1782,"date":"2016-10-12T14:40:44","date_gmt":"2016-10-12T14:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pfort.org\/?p=1782"},"modified":"2026-05-19T14:22:41","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T11:22:41","slug":"79-incidents-of-corruption-in-september-pft-report-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pfort.org\/ar\/79-incidents-of-corruption-in-september-pft-report-2\/","title":{"rendered":"79 incidents of corruption in September: PFT report"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>\n<h1 dir=\"ltr\">79 incidents of corruption in September: PFT report<\/h1>\n<p class=\"post-meta clearfix\" dir=\"ltr\"><span class=\"fa-calendar\">OCTOBER 12TH, 2016 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span> <span class=\"fa-categories\">POLITICS NEWS<\/span><\/p>\n<\/header>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The non-governmental organisation Partners for Transparency (PFT) documented 79 cases of corruption in Egypt in September.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">PFT\u2019s monthly report, published on Tuesday, focuses on analysing the legislative and procedural developments related to the fight against corruption, as well as compiling all the incidents covered by the local media during the month.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">According to PFT, September saw the conclusion of the parliament\u2019s first legislative round without any real or concrete participation in developing the legislative environment to fight corruption.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe parliament did not discuss or suggest any of the laws needed by the anti-corruption system,\u201d it stated.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The report highlighted presidential statements regarding corruption. During President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi\u2019s participation in the G20 summit in China, he reportedly discussed ways to access more effective financial and economic governance.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Supply Ministry continues to top the list of corruption incidents in the report. Some 15 incidents were documented, followed by the municipalities sector with 11 incidents. Nine cases were documented in the Health Ministry, followed by the Agriculture Ministry with eight incidents of corruption.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The report pointed out that the category of \u2018incidents currently under investigation\u2019 comprised 68% of corruption cases for September, 18% were taken to court, and 11% have not yet been examined.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Cairo governorate still has the largest share of corruption with 21 incidents in September, followed by Giza, Qena, Sohag, and Sharqeya.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>79 incidents of corruption in September: PFT report OCTOBER 12TH, 2016 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 POLITICS NEWS The non-governmental organisation Partners for Transparency (PFT) documented 79 cases of corruption in Egypt in September.
