"Geneina" imprisonment for a year with labor in the "600 billion pounds" case

The New Cairo Misdemeanor Court has sentenced one year imprisonment with work, a fine of 20 thousand pounds and a bail of 10 thousand pounds, against Counselor Hisham Geneina, the former head of the Central Auditing Organization, after accusing him of spreading false news about the size of the cost of corruption in Egypt, in the case known in the media as “the corruption of 600 billion pounds “.
The session was chaired by Counselor Haitham Al-Sagheer, and the secretariat of Nasser Abdel-Razek and Ahmed Hassan.
The Supreme State Security Prosecution, headed by Counselor Tamer Al-Farjani, referred Counselor Hisham Geneina to urgent trial after it decided to release him with a financial guarantee of 10 thousand pounds and refused to pay 10 thousand pounds for the amount of the bail issued by the prosecution, accusing him of spreading false news about the size of the cost of corruption in Egypt.
