"Jad Al-Karim": "The National Human Rights' performance in the elections is" weak "

Walaa Jad Al-Karim, Director of the Partners Foundation for Transparency, said: The performance of the National Council for Human Rights, and its role in following up and monitoring the conduct of the electoral process, was weaker than its capabilities, as it is an independent, non-governmental national institution that possesses broad powers and capabilities that are not found by civil society organizations .

The director of the foundation added, in exclusive statements to "Vito", today, Thursday, that the National Council for Human Rights must reconsider its institutional structure, after its performance was weaker than that of the smallest Egyptian civil society organization.

"Jad Al-Karim" denounced the Council's coordination with the Supreme Elections Committee, ignoring coordination with civil society organizations, as well as its weak awareness-raising role to qualify voters and their knowledge of the electoral system and election mechanisms.

He denounced that the National Council for Human Rights before the January revolution played a more prominent role than that of a council that came after two revolutions, stressing the need to administratively restructure the council.
