The Public Prosecutor is investigating Mustafa Bakri for high treason

The Attorney General, Counselor Nabil Sadiq, ordered an investigation to be opened in the complaint submitted by 9 lawyers against the member of Parliament, Mustafa Bakri, in which they accuse him of high treason and committing the crime of violating the country's independence, unity and territorial integrity, spreading false information and rumors, insulting the judiciary and inciting against the Egyptian state. Through the publication of a book claiming that the islands of Tiran and Sanafir are affiliated with Saudi Arabia, despite the two islands' Egyptians, and the ruling of the administrative judiciary in Egypt dealt with the two islands in an insulting manner to the judiciary and incited Saudi Arabia against Egypt, as it assigned the first public attorney to the South Cairo Prosecution Office to investigate.
The list of attorneys submitting the communication included “Sayed Al-Awam, Majdi Muhammad Taher, Yasser Sharawi, Rabih Al-Mallawani, Osama Al-Shishtawi, Nahla Muhammad Ibrahim, Ali Ayoub, Fatima Sayed, and Muhammad Naguib.”
Communication No. 8751 of 2016 stated the petitions of the Attorney General, that the decision issued to re-demarcate the borders between Egypt and Saudi Arabia according to which the islands of Tiran and Sanafir were ceded to Saudi Arabia, and despite the invalidity of this decision for violating the text of Article 151 of the Egyptian Constitution because those two islands are Egyptian and are subject to Egyptian sovereignty according to all documents. And documents, since the announcement of this agreement, the complainant used to publish false news about the Saudi ownership of the two islands.
He added that Bakri repeated these lies through satellite channels, newspapers and all media, and even issued a book entitled (Tiran and Sanafir - The Full Truth) in an attempt to prove the ownership of these islands to Saudi Arabia.
Until the ruling of the Administrative Court was issued in its session yesterday, which ruled the nullity of the agreement signed between the Egyptian government and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia due to Egypt's ownership of those islands since ancient times.
The communication explained that although the court ruling is a title of the truth, but rather the truth itself and is considered an argument for all, the defendant made a telephone intervention with the “Eyes Masr” program broadcast on the “Al-Hadath” channel and commented on the ruling issued by the Administrative Court and claimed that The Administrative Court's ruling that the islands belong to Egypt violates the constitution and that he keeps documents under his control confirming the ownership of the two islands to Saudi Arabia, in addition to his incitement to the Saudi authorities against the Egyptian people to resort to international arbitration to restore the two islands, which threatens the safety, independence and territorial integrity of the country.
The communication stated that “Bakri” thus committed the crime of violating the independence, unity and territorial integrity of the country, which stipulates that the death penalty is for this type of crime, and he also committed the crime of spreading false news contrary to the truth by using satellite channels, newspapers and publications (Book of Tiran and Sanafir Truth) He claimed, contrary to the truth, that they are not owned by the Egyptian state, as well as the crime of insulting the court that issued the ruling, as the court’s ruling dealt with a manner that questions the integrity of the judges who issued the judgment, and incited the Saudi authorities to reject judiciary rulings and resort to international arbitration and sue the Egyptian state to obtain The two islands.
The authors demanded that the applicable legal measures be taken to lift the immunity of the complainant. In preparation for the commencement of the investigation with him in the crimes attributed to him, the criminal case against him and his referral for criminal prosecution with the indictment articles 83, paragraphs (a), 41, 186, 187 and 188 of the penal code in the aforementioned crimes.
